Johnny I hardly knew ya - Traditionnel irlandais - version punk celtique

"Johnny I hardly knew ya" est un titre traditionnel irlandais ayant pour sujet les atrocités de la guerre, la chanson date du début du 19ème siècle. Elle raconte l'histoire d'un soldat irlandais envoyé au Sri Lanka et dont l'épouse constate les mutilations de guerre, notamment la perte d'un œil et d'une jambe.

La mélodie est également utilisée pour "When Johnny Comes Marching Home" écrit lors de la guerre sécession américaine.

Le titre a été adapté par The Irish rovers :

les Dropkick Murphys, Joan Baez etc.

et donc par BogZH Celtic Cats !, à découvrir sur scène ... Agenda
